Obatala Festival

Odun's 16th year as an Obatala priest was celebrated this past weekend. The 3 day celebration was honored with the presence of Hrm Oba Adefunmi Adegbolu II., King of Oyotunjii Village, along with several temples from different cities and states. As the crowd of about 100 danced and worshiped under the white tent, Obatala's spirit quickly came down and greeted the crowd. I think its safe to say everyone walked away feeling refreshed and blessed. Iyanifa Osun Monife, head of the Tallahassee temple, said "it was off the chain! You know they are master drummers and boy did they throw down. The dancing and the singing outstanding." Baba Sola from the Atlanta temple also said "Eku se oo! Adupe for inviting me. I had a ball! Good vibes, good folks, good food, Osa Epaa!"
According to Oba Adegbolu II., Odun has lifted the bar for the younger and older priests.
If you missed this event there are more festivals to come this year. Please check the page for updates.
Adupe, may our ancestors continue to guide us and keep us in the light!
